Cooking

Outdoors and in the kitchen, it keeps us fed and unites us with the past.

Here at Palmer Folk School we have big plans for cooking classes. Eventually we’d like to have a DEC Approved kitchen for classroom use AND hourly rental. But that’s in the future. For now we’ll be limiting our classes to the working kitchen we do have available to us, NonEssentials in Palmer Alaska.

What kinds of cooking classes do we plan on hosting? Oh, so many! We’d love to offer bread baking, fermenting, pie dough classes, traditional cooking over open fire classes, campfire cooking, and many more. Really though it depends on what our community asks for, so be sure to let us know what you want to learn. And we’ll try to find the right teacher to bring it to you! Know a teacher?? Send them our way!
