This class is for anyone who’s already taken a blacksmithing class or who swings a hammer for a living.

NOT FOR BEGINNERS.

This class is scheduled for July 29th at 1:00 pm and should run 4-5 hours.

Join us in welcoming Caleb Budd, a local knife maker to Palmer Folk School! Caleb is teaching our advanced Blade Making Class because he specializes in making knives and knife blades! This class will walk you through making your own smithed Puukko Knife with little to no work on a grinder. This means it’s all heat and hammer work. We will burn in the handle but finishing the handle will be up to you.

For this class please wear long pants and closed toed shoes. Safety glasses are required for blacksmithing classes.

We provide snacks and water but encourage students to bring what they like or need as well!

The advanced blade class will run about 4-6 hours and is for students 18 and older who have taken a previous blacksmithing class OR you swing a hammer for a living.
